Modification

Management /Modification NXT /PU /Studies

NXT cable for 9V. Use white (GND) and black (VDC) wire.

Make own 9V connectors. Drill 5 holes (1 mill) in a 1 x 2 plate. Make two ends in wire and plug each end through the holes from below, twist and cut.

Track with rectifier diode. Cut a groove in the middle of the first track, file iron and let the rectifier diode stuck on both sides of the groove.

Reed contact / magnet sensor for NXT. Use the touch sensor blog. Modify tiles for placement of Reed connector on track and magnet under engine.

WeeDo Motion Sensor to NXT Converter. Replace white and red wire. (see Wittenaar) Use SumoEyes blog. [Also triggered by flash]

Prepare Wedo cables. For light, relay and more. Philo's page

Train motor: Join wire 6 (ID2) + 3 (GND) and 5 (ID1) + 4 (V), use 1 and 2 for motor.

LED: 5 (ID1) trough 2,2 kOhm to 3 (GND), 6 (ID2) not connected.

Simple motor: Join 6 (ID2) + 3 (GND) and 5 (ID1) trough 2,2 kOhm to 3 (GND)

Simple stop. Stop of the entire field with the possibility of a time shift so that the sensor can be positioned before the station. Video

Reverse current direction with relays. Signal to trigger from HUB. PU wire 1 and 2 to Gnd+In1 and Vcc. 9V power in from Speed regulator connected to Com. Current out for track No1+Nc2 and Nc1+No2.

Field controlled 9v. Separation piece. Both rails cut in the middle with connectors to one and the other side as well as transverse connectors that allow the piece to be connected.

Double motor. Connecting 9V + PU or PF motors. Use the pickup power source from the 9V motor for a PU or PF auxiliary motor and lights on the train.

Magnet connection. A magnet with several conductors is used for the puffs on the train. Magnets in bricks supported by copper tape to connect power between modules.

Square magnet in brick without tube or round in a technic brick. Also as support in houses with profile modules. Video

Friction reduced wheels. Ball bearings placed in technic bricks and in wheel holder. "Ball bearings 2 x 5 x 2,5mm"

The wheel holder is made of a hard rubber material that is challenging to modify.

Each aware of difference on new skirts for engine
that slows down old 9V motors so that they cannot run.

Switch point

I have chosen to make the cut a little off-center to gather with 2x8 MOD baseplates. If you make it a little big, you can file it and get away with a fairly decent connection.
